The team tested a GMC seat motor to find its power curve and determine the optimal pinion gear size. They attached an encoder to the motor assembly and loaded it with weights to generate a curve in Data Studio. Analysis of the results showed the motor's no-load speed, stall torque, and maximum power. Based on the required output torque and strength considerations, they calculated that a 33-tooth larger gear paired with a 7-tooth pinion gear would meet requirements.

Testing is an essential activity in any engineer’s career. Whatever your role in industry (electrical designer, purchase engineer, manufacturer, installation contractor or maintenance engineer) a solid knowledge of tests to be carried out on a given piece of electrical equipment and interpretation of results obtained is a necessity. This workshop is designed to familiarise you with various aspects of testing general electrical equipment and high voltage testing in particular. Examples will be cited from various international standards regarding the procedure for conducting of tests and interpreting the test results. The need for keeping proper records of tests conducted both in the initial stages and later during routine maintenance will be discussed. Some of the tests are too complex to be performed on a routine basis or may require specialised equipment which may not be normally available to user industries or even manufacturers. This paper tends to develop for protection of three phase induction motor from single phasing, phase reversal, over voltage and under voltage. Due to this electrical fault the winding of motor get heated which lead to insulation failure and thus reduce the life time of motor. This fault is generated in induction motor due to variation in induction motor parameters. When three phase induction motor runs continuously, it is necessary to protect the motor from these anticipated faults. Three phase induction motor generally directly connected through the supply, if the supply voltage has sag and swell due to fault the performance of motor is affected and in some cases winding is burned out. When phase sequence (RYB) is reversed due to wrong connection then motor start rotating in another direction, if supply system has only one phase and other phase is disconnected then it is single phasing problem.
