Motivation
• Motivation is the driving force within an individuals that impels them to action.
• Motivation in management describes ways in which managers promote
productivity in their employees.
NEEDS
• A condition or a situation in which something must be supplied in
order for certain to be maintained or a desired state to be achieved.
• Two types of needs:
1. Innate needs
2. Acquired needs
Innate Needs
• These are physiological, that include the needs for food, water, air, clothing,
shelter and sex.
Acquired Needs
• Needs that we learn in response to our culture or environment, that
includes:
