Use of text: Interactive Menu
(Title, Credits, animated captions, stings,
indents, interactive menus, web banner)

Brief description: When the menu appears on screen the characters and the location of the film slide onto
What do you see? screen. The interactive options also slide onto screen. Behind the images there are clips from
the film that is featured. It is very colourful and very eye catching. In my opinion clips from the
film in the menu impacts on me more than still images.

Techniques used: All the images and videos are layered on screen one after the other. The video clip is over an
Animation, Visual Effects, Colour Rendering, image of the setting but has a low opacity. The movement of images onto the screen is very
Graphics, Movement robotic, representing the theme of the film. The menu lacks animation but this may be a good
thing as it is not to over the top.

Advanced techniques: The images are very sharp and a video is layered over the top of an image with a low opacity.
Blur, Sharpen, Distortion, Rotation, Opacity Some images blur onto screen where as some fly or just slide. The whole menu is very clear.

Technical comments: The interactive menu has a DivX Codec of 5,6 or 3,4,5,6 depending on if it is played on a DVD
Video Format, Screen Ratio, Resolution, or a Blueray. It has a max ratio of 1280×720×30. The frame rate is 720p or 1080p depending on
