the company’s universal server.
Let’s delve into Nina’s narrative which underscores the

seeking support, making her an inspiring figure in the
dynamic landscape of corporate leadership!
Driving Customer Programs
“One of the biggest impacts I’ve made is driving customer
programs and understanding what makes our customers
successful,” shares Nina, highlighting the significance of
implementation partners. She recognizes that the
ecosystem is the key to bringing products and solutions
to life. “By working with our partners and ensuring that we
are properly enabling, energizing and rewarding them, we

Tech Transforms
“Technology is helping us reimagine how we can be more
effective and contribute to the value-added part of our
jobs,” expresses Nina, highlighting the transformative
role of technology.
At Microsoft, Copilot with M365 exemplifies this shift,
allowing her to save 20-30 minutes after each meeting.
It’s a huge time-saver and lets Nina focus on the
substantive work of running her business. Nina sees
this as a major inflection point where AI augments
work, radically impacting productivity. “I’m so proud to
work at a company at the forefront of bringing these
capabilities to the world,” she states.

“At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and
organization on the planet to achieve more,” says Nina,
emphasizing the timeless essence of this powerful goal.

them about what we need to do, but the ‘why’ is critical,”
Nina emphasizes. Encouraging personal commitment
and curiosity, she adds, “When people understand the
context and take the first step, we’re all moving forward
together.”
Addressing the evolution of a company and
intergenerational transitions, Nina sees diversity and
inclusion as opportunities for growth. “Learning from
new perspectives makes us smarter, stronger and better

I joined a large company and they asked me to build a
worldwide partner program,” recounts Nina, highlighting
the task of aligning independent programs for greater
impact.
Creating a vision that resonated, she emphasizes, “I had
to help everyone believe in the plan so they would
contribute the resources, control and responsibility for
greater success.” Navigating this on a global scale, Nina’s
leadership test involved inclusive collaboration. The
power of discussion, sharing insights, asking questions,
listening, and collecting ideas played a crucial role. By
iterating and reflecting the field’s ideas, she ensured
everyone felt a personal stake in the program’s success,
fostering a collective approach rather than a top-down
deployment.

“My advice to women who aspire to venture into the
technology industry is to jump in with curiosity and not be
afraid of new challenges,” says Nina, encouraging a
fearless approach. She emphasizes the value of learning
from mistakes, stating, “Mistakes are opportunities to

echoes CEO Satya Nadella’s perspective on being a
culture of learn it all, not know it all.
Nina suggests exploring horizontal experiences for
career growth, noting, to get some of the more senior
jobs, horizontal experiences are necessary. She
envisions a future with more women in the industry,
stating, “We have so much to offer,” and expresses her
company’s commitment to increasing women’s
representation, highlighting the significant opportunity
for women to shape the tech industry’s future.
The Growth Mindset
“I think continued innovation is essential for any company
that wants to stay relevant and competitive in their
market,” emphasizes Nina, stressing the need for a
cultivated and nurtured culture of innovation. Trust,
collaboration, empowerment, and recognition are key
components in fostering innovation. “Trust means that
you trust your people to have the best ideas, to have the
best intentions and to pursue the best outcomes for the
customers and the partners.”
Collaboration encourages sharing insights and co-
creating solutions, while empowerment provides the
necessary resources for success. Recognition involves
celebrating achievements and inspiring others.
As a company, a growth mindset is embraced to open
doors to new possibilities. Building trust and
collaboration throughout partner ecosystem is part of
the strategy. Partners contribute fresh ideas,
facilitating learning, growth and quicker progress
together.
The Dynamics of Change
“I work for a company that has pivoted many times. We
started out as a PC company with the mission of putting a
PC on every desk,” shares Nina, highlighting the
company’s dynamic evolution. Now a cloud and AI
leader, she believes the key to navigating the ever-
changing business landscape lies in being customer-
centric, partner-centric and purpose-driven.
Nina emphasizes putting the customer at the center,
anticipating their needs and delivering genuine value.
Acknowledging partners’ critical role, the company
prioritizes collaboration, empowerment and co-
creating value. “Purpose-driven means that we always
align our actions with our mission, vision, values, and goals,”

16. Innovations and Disruptions
in Business Leadership
eadership plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and
Lnavigating disruptions. Traditionally dominated by men, the
realm of business leadership is witnessing a significant shift as
more women step into prominent roles, bringing with them unique
perspectives, approaches, and innovations. In this comprehensive
exploration, we delve into the innovations and disruptions catalyzed
by women in business leadership, highlighting how they are reshaping
industries and driving progress.
The Rise of Women in Business Leadership
Over the past few decades, there has been a gradual but steady
increase in the representation of women in business leadership
positions. While the journey has been challenging, with barriers to
entry and glass ceilings to shatter, women leaders have demonstrated
resilience, competence, and a knack for innovation. Today, we see
women occupying CEO, CTO, CFO, and other C-suite positions across
diverse sectors, from technology to finance, healthcare to
manufacturing.
Innovations in Leadership Styles
One of the key innovations brought forth by women in business
leadership is the evolution of leadership styles. Historically,
leadership has often been associated with traits such as assertiveness,
dominance, and competitiveness—characteristics traditionally
attributed to masculinity. However, women leaders have introduced a
more inclusive, collaborative, and empathetic approach to leadership.
By prioritizing teamwork, communication, and emotional intelligence,
they foster environments conducive to creativity, problem-solving,
and organizational resilience.
Disrupting Organizational Culture
Women leaders are also driving disruptions in organizational culture.
They challenge outdated norms and practices, advocating for
diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace. By promoting
diverse hiring practices, implementing flexible work arrangements,
and addressing gender biases, they cultivate environments where
every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to
contribute their best. This not only enhances employee morale and

adaptability—a crucial asset in today's fast-paced
business landscape.
Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling
The ascent of women to leadership positions not only
represents a triumph of gender equality but also brings
fresh perspectives and insights to the table. Women
leaders are breaking through the glass ceiling,
shattering stereotypes, and paving the way for future
generations of aspiring leaders—regardless of gender.
Their success serves as both inspiration and validation,
demonstrating that meritocracy and competence know
no gender boundaries.
Embracing Diversity in Leadership
Furthermore, the rise of women in leadership
underscores the importance of diversity in driving
organizational success. By embracing diverse
viewpoints, experiences, and backgrounds, companies
can better adapt to complex challenges, anticipate
market trends, and foster innovation. Gender-diverse
leadership teams have been shown to outperform their
homogeneous counterparts, reaping the benefits of
varied perspectives and enhanced decision-making
capabilities.
Impact on Innovation and Performance
The presence of women in leadership roles correlates
with enhanced innovation and performance outcomes
for businesses. Studies have consistently shown that
companies with gender-diverse leadership teams tend
to be more innovative, agile, and financially successful.
Women leaders bring a different set of experiences and
perspectives to the table, leading to more
comprehensive problem-solving and strategic decision-
making. Moreover, their collaborative leadership styles
foster an environment where diverse ideas are
encouraged and valued, driving creativity and
innovation throughout the organization.
Promoting Work-Life Balance and Flexibility
Another significant innovation brought by women in
business leadership is the emphasis on work-life
balance and flexibility. Women leaders often advocate
for policies and initiatives that support employees in
achieving a healthy balance between their professional
and personal lives. Flexible work arrangements, remote
work options, and family-friendly policies not only
improve employee satisfaction and well-being but also
contribute to higher productivity and retention rates.
By prioritizing the holistic needs of their workforce,
women leaders create inclusive and supportive
workplaces that attract top talent and drive
organizational success.
Championing Social Responsibility and Sustainability
Women leaders are at the forefront of championing
social responsibility and sustainability initiatives within
their organizations. They recognize the importance of
corporate citizenship, and the role businesses play in
addressing pressing social and environmental
challenges. From implementing ethical sourcing
practices to reducing carbon footprints, women leaders
integrate sustainability into their business strategies,
driving positive impact while also enhancing brand
reputation and stakeholder trust. By aligning business
objectives with broader societal goals, they create long-
term value for both their companies and communities.
Overcoming Challenges and Bias
Despite their undeniable contributions, women in
business leadership still face numerous challenges and
biases. From unconscious gender biases to structural
barriers, women often encounter obstacles on their
path to leadership positions. However, through
resilience, perseverance, and support networks, they
continue to break down barriers and pave the way for
future generations. Additionally, organizations play a
crucial role in addressing systemic inequalities and
creating inclusive cultures that empower women to
thrive and succeed in leadership roles.
Innovations and disruptions in business leadership,
spearheaded by women, are reshaping industries and
redefining the future of work. By championing inclusive
leadership styles, challenging traditional norms, and
embracing diversity, women leaders are not only
driving organizational success but also fostering a more
equitable and sustainable business environment.

Here are the key points from the interview conducted by
CIOLook with Maya Zakhour, where she discusses her path
to becoming a successful and results-oriented sales
professional.
Brief our audience about your journey as a business
leader until your current position. What challenges
have you had to overcome to reach where you are
today?
I have always been interested in mathematics and
logical thinking ever since I was a child, so I took up a
bachelor's degree in computer science from Notre
Dame University. Some might perceive it as a domain
for males only, but for me, it was a logical choice.
I did not think twice. After graduation, I entered the
world of information technology (IT). The competition
back then was already fierce, but it did not deter me
from pursuing an IT career. From my perspective, it
allowed me to get out of my comfort zone by constantly
challenging me to improve my craft, given that this field
is continuously evolving.
Over time, my hard work had paid off. I ended up
leading projects with a direct impact on the business. I
have remained on this path over the years. I am also
lucky to have worked with renowned mentors who, up
until this day, remain as my guide and inspiration. Today,
I lead a big partner organization at NetApp, and it spans
EE, META, CIS, Iberia and LATAM.
Tell us something more about your company and its
mission and vision. What strategies have you
employed to ensure a smooth transition between
generations while maintaining the company's values
and vision?
NetApp´s mission is to provide organizations with the
data management solutions they need to accelerate
digital transformation and unlock the full potential of
their data.
In fact, NetApp is an intelligent data infrastructure

Undeniably, technology is playing a significant role in
almost every sector. How are you leveraging
technological advancements to make your solutions
resourceful?
As businesses carve out competitive advantages and
differentiation in their respective markets, they are
collecting and analyzing massive amounts of data and
metadata from every business application, customer
touchpoint, and device they can to generate actionable
insights.
Continuing innovation in areas like AI and analytics has
given these businesses new ways to apply their data.
Still, they need to ensure their underlying IT and

that data, no matter where it's stored or when it's
needed. Those that can make their data work for them
will operate more efficiently and drive business value.
Where do you envision yourself to be in the long run,
and what are your future goals for your company?
My long-term goal is to become the CEO of a successful
IT company and maybe even my startup that will
provide specialized IT services to the world. I hope to
achieve that by first managing a smaller team within the
next few years and generating enough results and

As a women leader, you likely face challenges on a
regular basis. Can you share an instance where you
encountered a significant obstacle and how you

In my opinion, challenges present an opportunity to be
creative and participate in a competitive situation to
achieve solutions. It must not be seen as a setback but
more as a measure of our abilities, skills, and strengths.
I welcome every challenge and consider it a way to
learn and build new skills, perspectives or expertise. It
