Various types of formulations are prepared by the combination of such drugs which aid in restoring liver functions. An appreciable collection of such combinations are available in the literature of Ayurveda from where selection is made as per the condition of disease and patient. Liver is called as “yakrit” in Sanskrit and liver disorders come under the heading of yakrit vikaras in Ayurvedic literature. The balance of body is maintained by the equilibrium and normalcy of the three doshas namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Yakrit is the abode of pitta and raktha as per Ayurveda. Yakrit vikaras are an outcome of deranged pitta dosha along with poor “agni” and hence treatment aims at correction of pitta dosha and stabilization of agni. This derangement can be associated with abnormalcy in the other two doshas also. -COMMON LIVER DISORDERS -GENERAL SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS -DIAGNOSIS OF LIVER DISORDERS -AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE OF LIVER DISORDERS -SELECTION OF HERBS FOR MANAGEMENT OF LIVER DISORDERS - TREATMENT FOR LIVER DISORDERS IN AYURVEDA
