Some of their notable productions include Warhorse (2007), which used life-sized puppet horses and won several awards, and Ouroboros (2012), a love story told through evocative puppet imagery. The company aims to identify, mentor and champion puppetry through the Handspring Trust for Puppetry Arts established in 2010.
The document summarizes changes in women's fashionable silhouettes and corsetry between 1800-1920. During 1800-1840, waists were high but fell to the natural waist by the late 1820s. Innovations like gussets, metal eyelets, and quilting were introduced. Between 1840-1860, waists continued falling and innovations like the front-fastening busk and wider acceptable waists emerged. The 1870-1890 period featured the small-waisted hourglass figure and inventions like the spoon busk. Corsets reached the thighs by 1910-1920 and incorporated elastic inserts, supporting 12-20 bones.
The document discusses Vitruvius and his work De Architectura which describes Greek and Roman architectural styles. It then discusses the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD that buried the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Archaeological excavations of these sites began in the early 1700s and have uncovered many frescoes and examples of the four styles of Roman wall painting: Imitation of Marble, Illusion, Decorative Surfaces, and Synthesis or Intricate Style.

George C. Smedberg consulted with Delford F. Brummer of Stanford University Theatre to develop the Westlite Projector in the 1990s. The Westlite Projector was an improvement on previous Linnebach projectors. It allowed for custom projections using paint on acetate sheets, but the projections had a soft focus. While large and sometimes difficult to hide, the Westlite Projector was still fairly dim. It helped advance projection technology but was later replaced by glass gobo technology.
A choreographer has a different role than a director when working on a production. While a director works from an existing script and vision, a choreographer is responsible for creating the vision, staging, and choreography all at the same time. This requires a choreographer to take on many roles simultaneously, making it an entirely different type of collaborative process than working with a director.

This report explores the significance of border towns and spaces for strengthening responses to young people on the move. In particular it explores the linkages of young people to local service centres with the aim of further developing service, protection, and support strategies for migrant children in border areas across the region. The report is based on a small-scale fieldwork study in the border towns of Chipata and Katete in Zambia conducted in July 2023. Border towns and spaces provide a rich source of information about issues related to the informal or irregular movement of young people across borders, including smuggling and trafficking. They can help build a picture of the nature and scope of the type of movement young migrants undertake and also the forms of protection available to them. Border towns and spaces also provide a lens through which we can better understand the vulnerabilities of young people on the move and, critically, the strategies they use to navigate challenges and access support.
The findings in this report highlight some of the key factors shaping the experiences and vulnerabilities of young people on the move – particularly their proximity to border spaces and how this affects the risks that they face. The report describes strategies that young people on the move employ to remain below the radar of visibility to state and non-state actors due to fear of arrest, detention, and deportation while also trying to keep themselves safe and access support in border towns. These strategies of (in)visibility provide a way to protect themselves yet at the same time also heighten some of the risks young people face as their vulnerabilities are not always recognised by those who could offer support.
In this report we show that the realities and challenges of life and migration in this region and in Zambia need to be better understood for support to be strengthened and tuned to meet the specific needs of young people on the move. This includes understanding the role of state and non-state stakeholders, the impact of laws and policies and, critically, the experiences of the young people themselves. We provide recommendations for immediate action, recommendations for programming to support young people on the move in the two towns that would reduce risk for young people in this area, and recommendations for longer term policy advocacy.
