Mohenjo-daro, also spelled Mohenjodaro or Moenjodaro, was a large ancient city in the Indus Valley Civilization, located in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. The ruins of the city are spread over an area of 16 km² (6.2 sq mi), and it is one of the largest archaeological sites of the Indus Valley Civilization.Mohenjo-daro was rediscovered in 1922, and it has been excavated by archaeologists ever since. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is one of the most important archaeological sites in South Asia.
