Engineering Intern
Part of the graduate internship at Natal Portland Cement. Rotated in the supply chain, commercial, industrial and finance
business units with a focus placed on the finance unit. Worked closely with the executive committee including the CEO.
Assisted the management accountant in preparing the controlling reports. Oversaw a strategic planning project valuating
the potential expansion of the plant in Port Shepstone and comparing various scenarios to optimize profitability and forecast
cash flows. Obtained practical technical knowledge, specifically on mills. Gained good business acumen.

Engineering Student
Obtained vacation work experience which included four weeks of on-site experience at the ImproChem plant during the
shutdown and the commissioning of a new reactor. Responsible for the optimal functioning of the cooling towers on a daily
basis. Completed a project evaluating the potential of using a pre-owned heat exchanger.
