Ministerial Advisor
1-Provide general and political advice to the Minister and parliamentary responsibilities that
is consistent with the objectives of the government.
2- Develop appropriate relationships with Caucus, coalition and support parties in order to
facilitate progress of policy and legislation within the Minister's portfolio responsibilities.
3- Engage effectively with internal and external experts in relation to the Minister's
portfolio(s) so that the best information is available for discussion, decision making, policy
development, planning and risk management.
4- Answer questions of interpretation that raise significant issues in relation to Government
policy.
5- Provide, as required, input into the government’s strategic planning.
6- Actively participate in the development of the Minister's work planning.
7- Advise, guide and mentor appropriate Associate Ministers’ and Under-Secretaries’ staff in
relation to the Minister’s portfolios.
8- Promote a culture of Human Rights.
9- Manage the Ministerial office relationship with Coalition and support party spokespeople
and work with Prime Minister's office on relevant support party consultation issues.
10- Maintain effective relationships with the Prime Minister's advisory team; identify and
advise of any potential risks as soon as possible.
11- Attend meetings with officials, sector organisations, and any other relevant meetings as

1- Receive and investigate complaints of human rights, for such abuses as discrimination of
minorities or women, unjust imprisonment, violence against children, and Refugee &
Humanitarian Issues.
2- Provide strategic vision and leadership in the areas of local thematic research and analysis
which allow to identify and address new trends or emerging issues in a timely manner.
3- Co-founder of the Yemeni Forum for business and human rights, which is formed from a
government party (Ministry of Human Rights), businessmen and civil society organizations,
and the unit is considered as the Executive Secretariat of the Forum.
4- To ensure that the local Thematic Issues Programme works closely with the Law and
Policy Programme, the local Advocacy Programme, the Campaign Programme, the
Mobilization Cluster and the Communications Cluster to ensure coherence and
effectiveness in our work on transnational or emerging human rights issues.
5- To ensure the responses to emerging trends in human rights issues, understanding how
globalization has changed the analysis of some violations and abuses, and allocating
resources to address particularly difficult areas of human rights that require specialist
concentration.
6- Prepare briefs and other third-party interventions in international and national courts in
order to achieve progressive human rights outcomes relevant to business and human rights
and in cooperation with the Law and Policy Programme.
7- Advise on the strategic use of human rights bodies and procedures and international,
regional, and national tribunals to advance AI priorities relating to business and human
rights.
8- Write or contribute to the drafting of timely and effective reports, briefings, position
papers, correspondence,
action materials, press releases, and other internal and external documents in order to
implement the Minster's
