Microsoft Azure-powered IoT & AI Solution To Help FarmerAndri Yadi
This deck is presented during my speaking in Microsoft's //DevCon / Digital Economy Summit, Jakarta, Feb 27, 2020, which was one of a kind event since it was attended by Mr. Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft) and Mr. Joko Widodo (President of Indonesia). I shared about how Azure can power SMARTernak - a livestock-farming assistance platform - to help farmers.
Our team worked together on building a smart mirror with help of IoT and Python Technology. The main goal of our project was to display different kinds of information in the form of widgets to the user. Some of the widgets created include a weather report widget, a notification widget, and a digital album.
uNite 2017 - Magic mirror - Tom Vandevoorde and Michiel WoutersN Core
Everybody wants a Magic Mirror these days, it’s true. We couldn’t steal one , so we made our own using a Raspberry Pi, hooked it up to the internet and made use of several online Api’s to populate our app with user specific information. The mirror can tell you how long you’ll be in traffic, whether you’ll need to bring an umbrella and information about cool events happening soon. It will also send a nice compliment every now and then to make those Monday mornings more bearable. Want to share your smart mirror with others? (we don’t). No problem. Just let the mirror scan your face and it will recognize you the next time it sees you. In this session, we will talk about how we built a magic mirror with a Raspberry Pi running an UWP app on Windows 10 IoT Core. The app is built to consume web services and display data on the reflection of a mirror. Learn more about how to build true Universal Windows Platform(UWP) apps using the new .Net Standard 2.0 libraries and see how Cognitive Services can improve the user friendliness of your app.

Pick Your Poison – Mobile Web, Native or Hybrid?Effective
Presented at Denver Startup Week - October 2012
As developers, one of the largest challenges is deciding what kind of mobile application to build: mobile web, hybrid, or native mobile. This is a thorny question because there isn’t a black-and-white answer. The solution can sit anywhere from pure mobile web to pure native mobile, or somewhere in between. In this session, Shane Church, technical lead at EffectiveUI, uncovers how the answer is tied to deep consideration of architecture decisions, the needs of the user, and the business goals for both the short and long term. He goes step-by-step through the questions and project considerations they should address when preparing to embark on a mobile development project. You'll learn that your responses to these questions will drive a clear path to the right decision that keeps end-users and organizational goals in line.

8. In early 2011, it was big hit!
iOS, then Android, then Windows
Phone
No feature phone app
Feature phone was 70% market
share
9. Instagram-like app for feature phone*
*Nokia S40/Series 60
For such limited device, 70-80% Instagram features covered
Not Instagram client, it has its own backend
2011
10. The first Photo Sharing app for
feature phone
1 million users in less than 1 year
It made money
21. As a _
I need _
So I can _
Defining minimum viable product. Fill the blank…
22. As a event owner/hoster
I need to automatically collect photos around
my event, that are shared to social media
So I can save, curate, publish the photos,
without manually collect them, and give the
printed photo as merchandise
23. As a event guest
I need to take selfie photo
So I can show it off to social media. Would be
nice if I can get it printed, for my own memory
24. Develop the MVP, and salvage from
Jepret backend as much as possible
to achieve that, I did…
43. As a event hoster/venue owner, that wants to
provide photo printing for my guests
I need to prepare the tools quickly
So I can focus serving my guests, while giving
them memorabilia, their own photos.
Another requirement…
52. Develop products that solves (your
own) problems
Stick or pivot?
Beside cloud and mobile, you may
need to embrace IoT
Hopefully, you can learn something…
