This presentation by João Poças Martins talks about information technologies (IT) evolved in a fairly significant way over the last few years, having its impact also reached the AEC industry (Architecture, Engineering and Construction). The modeling programs of Building Information Modeling (BIM) are presented as the next step in the cooperation and collaboration between the various actors in the construction site and between several specialties. However, there are still barriers to be exceed to its complete adoption in work because, not only of its complexity, but also due to fact that its usage is in personal computers so, in a fixed workstations. There is a necessity of bringing these models to portable workstations through simple and easy inter-faces that can be generated in game engines.
The present dissertation conducted an empirical study with the goal of finding a workflow between BIM software and game engines that would preserve the greatest possible amount of information. Af-ter finding a workflow that presented good results, it was proceeded to deepen this process, by explor-ing some of the potential of the game engine which can be applied to the interface. After this, the in-terface was built through a webpage.
At last, it was made a practical application of this methodology in a real building, exploring how the reunion of BIM models with game engines can contribute in a positive way to situations that involve teaching and security in work.

license-lending feature.
Moembris, 19/08/18 (ab/mas) - The powerful 3D_Analyzer Viewer of the German-French
software manufacturer CoreTechnologie (CT) comprises in the latest 4.3 version a
new license-borrowing function that allows to “borrow” the software for a limited time
e.g. on a laptop. Already the inexpensive basic version of 3D_Analyzer includes 24
different interface formats, such as CATIA V5/V6, NX, Inventor SolidWorks, Creo,
STEP, JT as well as FBX and OBJ. In addition the new version also reads major 2D
drawing formats.
Outstanding Analysis Capabilities
The 3D_Analyzer Professional version of the Viewer provides outstanding analysis
capabilities that are usually available only in much more expensive CAD systems.
For assemblies, the model comparison as well as a collision and clearance check are
available. Models can also be analyzed for wall thicknesses, draft angles, undercuts
and projected areas. Thus, the Viewer is the ideal tool for users who sometimes use
a CAD system for viewing and detailed analysis, but in general do not design or edit
the parts. The flexible viewer helps to relax the license utilization of expensive CAD
licenses and thus significantly reduces costs. A special highlight of the Professional
Viewer is the possibility to save all imported CAD models as JT or 3D PDF files.
Advanced 3D Master Technology
The future-oriented version 4.3 of the 3D_Analyzer fully supports the advanced 3D
master technology. Thus CAD models from V5, NX and Creo as well as from STEP
AP 242 and JT can be read including dimensions, tolerances as well as the
predefined views, so-called captures. The use of the 3D-Master eliminates the need
for 2D-drawings, since in the 3D-model all information relevant for production is
