Boston College is a private Jesuit university founded in 1863 with approximately 9,000 undergraduate students located just outside of Boston. Through interviews and observations of transportation, dining halls, basketball and hockey games, the author found that BC students are generally well-rounded and obsessed with activities like yoga, salads, and socializing. There are unwritten rules of behavior like not using trays in dining halls and expectations for freshman boys to bring multiple girls to parties. Notable student and faculty icons include the piano player in Eagles Nest and athletic coaches.
