This document discusses a research project evaluating community-engaged scholarship (CES) between Wilfrid Laurier University and community partners. The project has three objectives: 1) assess current CES and strategies to increase it, 2) evaluate benefits and challenges of CES partnerships, and 3) understand transformations from community engagement. Advisory groups provided input into key issues. Early findings show the importance of relationships and balancing power between partners. The research aims to learn from community partners and build structures for equitable, effective, and sustainable partnerships through a process sensitive to both community and university contexts.
