Management Information System (MIS) is a computer-based system that processes data into information to communicate to various departments in an organization to support operations, management, and decision making. MIS processes raw data into processed information through reports and summaries to help managers make better decisions. It has components like people, processes, data, hardware, and software. MIS helps managers deal with large amounts of information and identifies useful information for decision making.
Management Information System (MIS) is a planned system of collecting, storing, and disseminating data in the form of information needed to carry out the functions of management. A Management Information System is an information system that evaluates, analyzes, and processes an organization's data to produce meaningful and useful information based on which the management can take right decisions to ensure future growth of the organization.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2. MEANING OF MIS
Management Information System is a computer
based information system which is basically
concerned with processing data into information
which is then communicated to the various
departments in an organization to support the
operations, the management and the decision
making function in the organization
4. MANAGEMENT
• MANAGEMENT is the effective utilization of human and material
resources tom achieve the enterprise objective
• It is the process consisting of the five basic functions
1. Planning
2. Organising
3. Staffing
4. Directing
5. Controlling
5. INFORMATION
• Information ,in MIS, means the processed
data that helps the management in
planning , controlling, and operations
• Data means unstructured raw facts ,
observations or unevaluated messages in
isolation . Data involves facts and figures
.Information on the other hand is like a
finished product
6. SYSTEM
• A System is an orderly grouping of interdependent components
linked together according to a plan to achieve a specific objective
• Human body is a system composed of various parts which are
working together towards a common objective ,that is to live
8. WHY IS MIS?
Manager makes decisions all the time
There is an overload of information
All information is not useful
Anything which helps manager improve his
decision-making will obviously lead to better result
MIS is a system ,where data is the input ,which is
processed to provide output in the form of
information reports , summaries , etc. Which help
the manager in decision making process.
9. Types of Management Information System
• Executive support system- Designed to help senior management make strategic
decisions
• Decision support system- Specifically designed to help management make
decisions in situations where there is uncertainty
• Knowledge Management System- To help the business create and share
information
• Transaction Processing System- Designed to process routine transactions
efficiently and accurately
• Office Automation System- That try to improve the productivity of employees
who need to process data and information.
10. Impact of the Management Information System
• MIS helps the top management in goal setting, strategic planning
and the execution
• It plays the role of idea generation and communication
• MIS helps to identify the problem and helps to find decision making
11. How MIS Is Useful In Companies
• For planning and control
• MIS minimizes information overloaded
• MIS Encourages Decentralization
• Costs
• MIS bring coordination
