Mireia Belmonte García (Badalona, Barcelona, 10 November 1990) is a Spanish
Olympic, world and European champion swimmer. Mireia is the first female
Olympic champion in the history of Spain swimming of all times. She is started
swim of 5 ages, in the Club Natación Badalona. In 2003 she started competing in
Spain for Federación Catalana de Natación. In 2008 she is participated at the
Beijing Olympic Games, where she debuted at 17 years old, and at 2012 London
where she won two silver medals in the 200-metres butterfly.
3. Why I admire her?
I admire her because she is the only Spanish woman to win very medals, for her
sacrifice to swim very faster and she is a Spanish woman to very world records.
In 2006 Mireia competing in FINA Youth World Championships, she was the
Junior World Champion in the 400- metres. In 2007 she is win in Beijing in the
400-metres medley. in 2011 she is win in Spain two medals, the silver and gold. IN
2016 she wins in Australia one gold medal in 200-metres butterfly.
