The Chhattisgarh State Government has constructed 500 housing colonies for panchayat secretaries to reside in village headquarters and better serve the local people. The Minister in Chhattisgarh, Mr. Ajay Chandrakar, has instructed officials to prohibit the sale of tobacco and gutkha within 200 meters of schools and colleges and to take strict action against smoking and drinking in public places. He also reviewed vaccination programs and schemes related to the National Health Mission to address rising issues of depression and anxiety from changing lifestyles.

2. The Chhattisgarh State Government has been constructing housing colonies
to panchayat secretaries at village Panchayats' head-quarters. About 500
houses have been constructed till date.

3. The State Government is keen to provide housing facilities so that the Panchayat
secretaries can reside in headquarters and serve the masses.

fast developing economy of the country. Chhattisgarh has been awarded
under the ‘Evolving Economy’ category.

school-college campuses.

7. The strict action should also be taken on people indulging in smoking or
alcoholism at public places. With the strict implementation of this rule, Mr.
Chandrakar has reviewed the meeting for schemes related to National
Health mission.

8. He also reviewed Mission Indradhanush Vaccination Programme and Chirayu
Yojana. In the tribal populated districts of state, a campaign on the likes of
Mission Indradhanush was conducted for vaccination.

9. The changing lifestyles are giving rise to problems of depression and
anxiety. He has instructed officials to chalk out action plan for the
purpose.
