Sec. 22 outlines penalties for employers who pay employees less than the minimum wage or contravene other rules. Employers can be imprisoned for up to 6 months or fined up to 500 rupees, or both. The court must consider any compensation already awarded when fining employers. Section 22-A allows fines of up to 500 rupees for contravening any provision without another specified penalty. Employers can be excused if they show due diligence and another person committed the offense without their knowledge or consent.
