This document discusses key principles of formative assessment and effective practice in assessment. It outlines that assessment should be learner-centered, provide a holistic view of learners, and be integrated with teaching and learning. Effective formative assessment enables teachers to reflect on teaching quality, identify student needs, and determine appropriate work levels. Types of formative assessment include feedback through marking, peer/self-assessment, and using summative assessments formatively. Formative assessment benefits learners by helping them reflect on learning and progress. The importance of effective feedback is also discussed.
This document provides tables listing concordances associated with the Five Elements - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. The concordances describe diverse structures, functions, objects, behaviours, qualities, and phenomena in traditional Chinese medicine. They are grouped into six categories: general concordances, organ-related concordances, disharmony/diagnosis-related concordances, and function/behaviour-related concordances. The concordances provide a framework for defining the scope and characteristics of each Element and how they relate to physiology, diagnosis, and behavior in traditional Chinese medicine theory.
The document discusses whether machines will replace humans and presents arguments on both sides. It notes that while AI can perform complex tasks more efficiently than humans, machines currently lack human traits like emotions and creativity. The document concludes that while machines may take over certain human jobs, humans will continue to govern and control technology and cannot be fully replaced due to unique human abilities. Overall, the document argues that humans and smart machines can co-exist.

In Brief - Assessing effective use of technology for quality and improvement Lynette Lall
This webinar explores a new self-assessment tool, RAPTA, which links into your organisational self-assessment reporting (SAR) processes, quality improvement plan and the Ofsted Common Inspection Framework (CIF).
RAPTA (Recording And Planning for Technology in Action) is a tool to identify, evaluate and improve technology's contribution to teaching, learning and assessment.
It is a way of evaluating the impact of technology in your organisation, and can be embedded in your quality improvement (QI) processes. It uses the language of OFSTED
and can generate evidence for your self-assessment reports (SARs).
RAPTA is designed to encourage a narrative investigation and evaluation of current position and progression in improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment,
as well as effective leadership and management, through appropriate use of technology.
This webinar will explain the RAPTA tool, and how it can be used in your organisation to:
• identify effective use of technology to support teaching learning and assessment;
• evaluate impact;
• support quality improvement;
• generate evidence for your SAR;
• provide access to the RAPTA tool; and
• discover how the RSC can support your organisation in using the RAPTA tool.

For the first time the opportunity of transfer functions of the human cerebral cortex in silicon neurochip of 10 cm^3 with 3D nanojet printer is shows. This is due to the fact that in the last 10 years a new direction in nanotechnology has appeared - the creation of organic and inorganic nanoclusters of certain size, called superatoms, which exhibit the unique properties of elementary atoms and can formally establish a new "periodic table". The development of an entirely new field of science opens the possibility to use cheaper isoelectronic analogues instead of expensive items.
In 1998, we proposed an electronic model of superatoms of helium in orthophaze and paraphase. These superatoms are formed from metal oxides and semiconductors. On this base we developed a new class of single-electron devices with unique physical properties. For example, one can create a computer with 10^16 transactions per second while consuming only a few joules of energy, which is close to the thermodynamic limit 3,4∙10^20 operations/joule. The computer can be grown in a 3D topology by jet nanolithography. Neuroprocessor with performance close to the one of the human cortex takes volume of few cubic centimeters. To demonstrate the formation conditions of superatoms we have developed a new model of an electron with energy of 0.1-0.2 eV, namely «cold» ring electron with radius of 7.25 nm. From the standpoint of superatoms we can consider the physical and chemical properties of proteins like supermolecules formed from superatoms. For example, the protein tubulin which forms nerve fibers and nuclear scaffolds and cells shows unique physical properties. It forms nanotubes with a diameter of 14.5 nm.
The developed technology of jet nanolithography allows us to grow inorganic artificial neurons, while watching their growth using the methods of nanophotonics. Back in 2005, we have patented scanning nanojet microscope, working in real time to monitor the living cell and its dynamics. In 2015 the Nobel Prize has been obtained for similar work on methods of fluorescence microscopy with a priority in 2006. However, the practical importance and potential of our development is much broader than that of the Nobel laureates. We can see at once to build nano-objects, but they only see, and not in real time.
Proposed electronic model of superatoms greatly simplifies the task of atomic-molecular engineering.

Photocatalytic materials are effective against nitrogen oxide, carbon oxide, sulphur oxide, formaldehyde, aldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, cigarette smoke, pathogenic agents (viruses and bacteria), etc. Our technology suggests using self-organizing nanoporous anodic films with high specific area as new photocatalytic materials. Using not only titanium, but also Ti-Al alloys is very promising in development of coatings with exceptionally good photocatalytic properties. The technology is protected by two patents of Russian Federation on formation of nanoporous coating on Ti-Al powder alloys.
