Although Microsoft provides out of the box feature to migrate to SharePoint
2010, it has the below limitations
In-Place Upgrade
• Re-organising content during migration
• No Fall back strategy if the migration goes wrong
Data Attach
• Granularity is limited to individual content databases, which means that
everything in a particular content database has to be migrated at the same time
• Broken navigation elements, strange formatting and malfunctioning web parts
