The web is probably too large already, and getting larger. Merging small sites is an opportunity to improve navigation efficiency and ongoing content quality - good for site users and site owners.

Competition for customers time and money is high and growing, especially in local and regional markets. Developers need to do more than just deliver functionality and good code. They must work with others on their teams to develop sites and apps with an eye on actual user data from Analytics, SEO research, and usability. We will talk about how a developer or a team can get into such a mindset.

Content Strategy: An Overview of What We DoJenDennis
This deck is a quick overview of the work a content strategist does--and the value a content strategist adds--as a member of the build team of a website.
The concept of Web Governance is currently attracting a lot of attention.
It seems as if its moment has finally arrived - which is encouraging because until recently few industry commentators or senior managers were interested in the details of managing a website.
The reason is that there were just too many other problems that needed fixing first – like getting the basics of usability right, implementing accessibility or improving content.
And while we must admit that work remains to be done in these areas, many of the fundamentals have been put to bed.
As a consequence attention is now switching to how such tasks – and the resources needed to support them – are managed.
The shift to Web Governance highlights a realization that if the trajectory of online experience is to be maintained, a more professional approach to operations is needed.
Indeed, disciplines like design and content are now so widely understood that they are being gradually exhausted as differentiators .
This means that the way in which they are managed is becoming progressively more important to creating & maintaining value.

Content Management Systems: Would You? Could You? Should You?CAMT
Content management systems (CMS) are making it easier than ever to create and manage Web site content. Often, once a CMS site is constructed, administration can be performed by users with limited technical knowledge (no coding experience necessary) using rich text editors and graphical, user-friendly interfaces. But how do you get to that point? This session will explore the decision making process arts organizations should engage in to determine their readiness to move into a CMS, to navigate the multitude of CMS lines in existence, and to ensure successful return on investment for a CMS transition. Created by Josh Futrell for the 2008 Technology in the Arts: Canada Conference.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
