My final product will be a fully operating winch used for wakeboarding. The winch will show I have effectively learned all of the skills needed in order to design and build a wakeboarding winch from scratch. The short form and long form processes were fairly easy for me to complete due to the large learning stretch my project requires. From the forms, I learned that my project will be very difficult to complete. However, working through the project will teach me various skills that will benefit me in the future. So far, I have learned many different skills from my senior project. First, I have learned ways to better my research such as how to evaluate sources and acquire reliable and relevant information. I have also learned skills that are more specific to my project. I have learned how to effectively go about designing a wakeboarding winch. I also now know how to use Google SketchUp to make accurate, to-scale designs. I have also learned how to weld and cut metal tubing. Due to the rarity of my project, I have had to do extensive research in order to find reliable information. While finding sources on my project is extremely difficult, I have been able to break apart the different project steps and find information on each individual step.
