Challenge Goals
 Create a next generation health management
app for consumers.
 Explore how the combination of Windows 8
and HealthVault features can create both more
engaging and more integrated health
solutions.
Challenge Details
The challenge seeks applications that…
• Are modern Windows Store app that runs both on
Windows 8 and Windows RT
• Use either the HealthVault Windows 8 SDK or use the
HealthVault web APIs to send or receive data from
HealthVault
Evaluation Criteria
• Creativity and innovation
• Potential for patient engagement and improving individual or
population health outcomes
• Design, usability, and intuitiveness of the application including
design in alignment with Windows 8 design
• Use of Windows 8 features such as:
o Live Tiles
o Search
o Share
o Snap Views
• Meaningful integrations and data exchange with the HealthVault
platform
• Ability to reach a broad range of consumers or healthcare
providers
Requirements
• 250 word description
• 5 slides on the solution (in PDF format)
• App package (uploaded to Final Submission Form as a
.zip file)
• Applications cannot be submitted to the Windows Store
before May 13, 2013
These elements must be received by 11:59PM PDT on
June 30th, 2013
Timeline
• Challenge launch: At Health:Refactored on
May 13, 2013
• Final Submission Deadline: June 30, 2013
• Announcement of Winner: July 2013
