Health of Grade 11-Rosal

MICRONUTRIENTS
 Are vitamins and minerals needed by the
body in very small amounts. However,
their impact on a body’s health are critical,
deficiency in any of them can cause severe
and even life threatening conditions.
VITAMIN A
 The importance of Vitamin A is help the body
use carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
These are the signs and symptoms of Vitamin
A
 Anemia
 Painful Joints
 Crack in teeth,
 depression
VITAMIN A
 Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is
naturally present in many foods. Vitamin A is
important for normal vision, the immune
system, reproduction, and growth and
development. Vitamin A also helps your
heart, lungs, and other organs work
properly.Carotenoids are pigments that give
yellow, orange, and red fruits and vegetables
their color. Your body is able to convert some
carotenoids into vitamin A.
THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT SOURCES FOR
VITAMIN A:
 Preformed vitamin A is found in fish, organ
meats (such as liver), dairy products, and
eggs.
 Provitamin A carotenoids are turned into
vitamin A by your body. They are found in
fruits, vegetables, and other plant-based
products. The most common provitamin A
carotenoid in foods and dietary
supplements is beta-carotene.
VITAMIN B
 The importance of vitamin B is the importan
of the production of energy from
carbohydrates and fat.
These are the signs and symptoms of Vitamin
B
 Anemia
 Skin rashes
 Convulsions
VITAMIN B
 B vitamins are important for making sure the
body's cells are functioning properly. They
help the body convert food into energy
(metabolism), create new blood cells, and
maintain healthy skin cells, brain cells, and other
body tissues.
VITAMIN E AND C
 The importance of vitamin E and C is the aid in
bone, teeth, and skin pormation and resistance
infections. Help protect the body from oxidative
damage.
These are the signs and symptoms of Vitamin C
and E:
 Anemia
 Frequence infections
 Bleeding gums
 Failures of wounds to heal.
VITAMIN E AND C
 Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin with
several forms, but alpha-tocopherol is the
only one used by the human body. Its
main role is to act as an antioxidant,
scavenging loose electrons—so-called “free
radicals”—that can damage cells.
 Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin found in
citrus and other fruits and vegetables, also
sold as a dietary supplement and as a topical
'serum' ingredient to treat melasma and
MINERALS IRON
 The importance of Minerals Iron is help in
regulating the chemical reactions in the body.
Helps in energy metabolism.
These are the signs and symptoms of Minerals
Iron:
 Sports anemia
 Anemia weaknesses
 Fatigue
 Pale apperance
MINERALS IRON
 Iron is a mineral that the body needs for
growth and development. Your body uses
iron to make hemoglobin, a protein in red
blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs
to all parts of the body, and myoglobin, a
protein that provides oxygen to muscles.
Your body also needs iron to make some
hormones.
CALCIUM
 The importance of calcium is helps build and
maintain bones and teeth: nerves and
muscle function and blood clothing.
These is the signs ang symptoms of Calcium:
 Stunted growth
CALCIUM
 Calcium is a mineral most often associated
with healthy bones and teeth, although it also
plays an important role in blood clotting,
helping muscles to contract, and regulating
normal heart rhythms and nerve functions.
ZINC
 The importance of Zinc is helps carry out
processes, plays a role in immune functions,
and wound healing.
These are the signd and symptoms of Zinc
 Growth failure
 Dalay sexual maturation
 Slow wound healing
ZINC
 Zinc is a trace mineral, meaning that the
body only needs small amounts, and yet it is
necessary for almost 100 enzymes to carry
out vital chemical reactions. It is a major
player in the creation of DNA, growth of cells,
building proteins, healing damaged tissue,
and supporting a healthy immune system.
