2. Two Methods for Salat al-Eid
■ 1. ‘Commonly Held’ method which a majority of Maraja’ mention:
– Six Takbeer and Five Qunoot in the First Rak’at
– Five Takbeer and Four Qunoot in the Second Rak’at
■ 2. Fatwa of Ayatullah al-Uzma al-Hajj as-Sayyid Ali al-Husayni as-Sistani:
– Five Takbeer and Four Qunoot in the First Rak’at
– Four Takbeer and Three Qunoot in the Second Rak’at
3. Statement of His Eminence, Sayyid as-Sistani

“This method, which is mentioned in the Risalah [Islamic Laws Manual], is the correct method for
performing Namaz-e-Eid, however if you [the followers of His Eminence, Sayyid as-Sistani] which to
perform it (Namaz-e-Eid) in the well-known method, then it MUST be done with the intention of Rajaa’
[with the hope that it will be accepted], however it is not a problem [to perform the Salat in this way].”
