 The Sydney Opera house was constructed by
    architect Jorn Utzon from 1957-1973
 It is a beacon of the culture Australia hoped
to portray at this point in it’s history
 It was awarded the
    Pritzker Prize,
    architecture’s
    highest honor.
 The building has a modern
    expressionist design, using the
    notorious gigantic ‘shells’ for the
    roof.
 It is ranked as one of the 20th
    centuries’ most distinctive
buildings of preforming arts in the
    world.
 Utzon and the opera house have
left a significant impact on the
design style of opera houses and
    other venues around the world
    today.
