one phone call on your behalf for each subject matter when they determine
it’s in your best interests. For your personal legal needs, the total number of
subjects is unlimited.
Contract & Document Review: Fax or mail contracts or documents of up to
15 pages to your provider law firm, and an attorney experienced in that area
of law will advise you of your legal rights and also recommend changes to help
protect you!
Trust Preparation: Trust preparation is available to you at the preferred
member discount. Minor trust preparation is included in the membership.
Motor Vehicle Legal Services: Legal services under this benefit go into effect
15 days after your enrollment date and will be provided at no additional charge
as long as your case is considered to have merit by your provider law firm, you
are properly licensed, and are driving a properly licensed and insured vehicle
with no more than 2 axles, and the incident does not involve charges of hit-and-
run, leaving the scene of an accident, or drug or alcohol-related charges.
24/7 Access: It does not cover cases involving allegations of alcohol use,
stalking, or domestic violence.
Trial Defense Legal Services: This benefit provides you and your spouse with
legal defense of some civil lawsuits. Other items not covered under this benefit
are appeals, garnishments, preexisting conditions, alcohol and drug related
matters, allegations of hit-and-run and leaving the scene of an accident, and
commercial vehicles.
IRS Audit Legal Services: IRS legal services may be used beginning with
the tax return due on April 15th of the year your membership is effective.
Exclusions include tax fraud and evasion, class actions, post-judgment relief
actions, appeals, garnishments, preexisting conditions, and business and
corporate returns.
Preferred Member Discount: This benefit offers you a significant discount
for assistance with issues such as bankruptcy, divorce, child custody issues and
other family law issues, as well as all exclusions under other portions of your
plan—in essence, anything not specifically covered by your other plan benefits.
You can, however, discuss these issues with your provider law firm under your
Legal Consultation and Advice benefit. Should you decide to retain an attorney
for assistance, you can rest easier knowing you’ll receive the services of a quality,
reputable law firm at a significant savings!
Please note that your provider law firm must have 5 business days’ notice prior
to a court date to prepare for representation, and a retainer fee normally will be
required before services can be rendered under this benefit.
General Provisions: Costs such as fines, court costs, penalties, expert witness
fees, bonds, and out-of-pocket expenses are your responsibility and are not
included as part of your membership benefits. LegalShield will not influence
or attempt to modify how your Provider Law Firm provides their professional
services. Legal services under your plan contract may not be used against
LegalShield, or its subsidiaries.
Identity Restoration: This will not apply if the identity theft is the result of a
dishonest, criminal, malicious, or fraudulent act you, your spouse, or your child
participated in, directed, or had knowledge of. Restoration services will not be
provided for a preexisting, known stolen identity event. You must be an active
member to receive restoration services. Plan benefits do not cover financial
losses arising from the identity theft.
