This document discusses the relationship between the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). It outlines three main proposals for a disclosure requirement to help implement both agreements in a mutually supportive way. Brazil, India, and others propose amending TRIPS to require patent applicants to disclose the source of genetic resources and evidence of benefit-sharing arrangements.
