This slide show contains slides on the technology I used in creating all of my products during this coursework.

2. Video Camera
I had to get used to working the video
camera before I went out and started
filming with it and so spent a few hours
getting used to the zooming button as
well as rewinding the tapes and playing
them back.
To save battery life I also shot some of my
footage through the lens rather than on
the small screen as it runs the battery
down very quickly.
Because it was a video camera that took
tapes I had to record onto a tape to then
load onto a computer rather than using
the flip camera’s where you just use the
USB plug and slot it into the computer.
The video camera was a success to use and
I found it easy to get used to.

3. Tri-Pod Video Camera Stand
I used the Tri-Pod throughout my music
video. It came into its own during the
long and wide shots I had to get of my
narrative performance giving me some
good clear shots.
As for the band performance element of my
music video I had it set up for elements
of some of the songs but because of
the layout of the practice room and the
limited space it was easier to take the
camera off the Tri-Pod and film walking
around with it in my hand.
The Tri-Pod was also good for getting shots
which matched the height of my actors
as the height of the stand could be
extended greatly by the legs and the
neck. This made filming a lot easier.

4. Premier Elements
Premier Elements was the software I used to
create my music video. I started with no
experience using the system ever before
and at first I found it to be a pain and
just overly complicated. However, as I
added my footage to it and got the hang
of cutting clips, removing background
sound and dragging a collected group of
shots into place I got used to it learning
as I moved along.
It is a good system to use with a fantastic
range of shots and effects to use to
manipulate your video and it you think of
an effect you want, Premier Elements
had probably got it.
However for the simplicity of my music video
in only using a couple of effects and the
rest being down to quick jump cuts, I
believe Windows Movie Maker would of
been the ideal programme for me to
use. Simple, easy to understand and a
programme I already had several hours
of experience using it.

5. Photoshop
I used Photoshop to create my Digi-Pack
and Magazine advert. It is a system I
have used a lot in the past and so I
have a lot of hours of experience on it.
Because of this I found it very easy to use
this time around and did not really
come across any problems while
creating my two ancillary tasks and
finished them with ease.
It was easy to try things out and if I didn’t
like them get rid of them. I simply
created new layers and started
working on them. If I didn’t like them I
could just get rid of the layer and start
again rather than risk creating
everything in one layer and then
loosing parts which I wanted to keep.
