Jim Thorpe was a renowned Olympic athlete and football player in the early 20th century. He won gold medals in both the decathlon and pentathlon at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden. Thorpe also starred as a football player for the Carlisle Indian Industrial School, scoring over 200 points. He went on to play professionally in the early National Football League for teams like the New York Giants. Thorpe was truly a great Olympian and pioneer in both Olympic and professional football history.
