2. Treatment-
Genre-
Reality show
Working title:
‘The Change Up’
Synopsis-
A diverse group of young people taken from all around the West Midlands are placed into
one big house where they each have to experience how the ‘other half’ live. They will all
have to work each others jobs and live each others life. This will take people out of their
comfort zones and see how they cope living with complete strangers.
Duration-
45 minuets every Thursday evening with three 5 minute breaks
Format-
• We will shoot our 2-5 minute clip by using a Nikon D3100
• The final product will be aired as a TV advert
• A 3 page fan website will also be created so that people can check the show out and
learn more about the characters.
3. Intended Audience-
The target audience for our show will be similar to the target audience of e4, so it will be
mainly females, aged 16-30.
Style-
Reality show with comedy and drama:
It will be based around people swapping their lives so this will obviously create drama and
comedy however because its not scripted yet some of the situations are set up it is a
reality show. The idea of the house is a lot like big brother except it isn't a game show.
Rationale-
The show will provide light entertainment (comedy and drama), it will distract you from
your own busy life and the target audience (16-30) will be able to relate to the characters
and their lifestyles. It will appeal to a wider range of people compared to other reality
shows like Made In Chelsea.
Feasibility-
The show will be based in one big house (like Big Brother), the characters will be given a
weekly/monthly budget which they must stick to. They won’t be aloud any contact with
family or friends. They must live the day to day life that the others do and must attend the
other persons job.
