Opening sequence
proposal
Isabella Freire
 What is it?
My opening sequence is about a boy who is running
away from his family.

He will be wondering around London early in the
morning.
The camera shots will be of him traveling on a train
to places in London and walking aimlessly around the
city.
What should be in it?
A range of camera shots capturing the different
emotions of the boy through close-ups and medium
shots as he wanders around the city lost.

The titles will be integrated into the shots. This will
include the type of productions, characters, and
necessary information. The titles will fit the genre of
the film.
FormatThe first three minutes of a film, including an introduction
to the character, setting, genre and mood. These three
minutes will include a range of camera angles to capture
the story and emotions of the boy who will be walking
around London.
 GenreThe genre is going to be a drama. It has a sense of
mystery included.
It’s a small production.

 CharactersIn my opening sequence I’m going to only include
one main character, this will be my brother.
 LocationI’m filming my opening sequence around London, such as south
bank and other areas along the river. I’m going to include a
train station to capture the travel that the character takes
place. I’m going to film this early in the morning, to capture
the light and also so its not too busy.
 Props-

The main character is going to be carrying a bright orange
backpack. This is to make him stand out to the camera,
and to also show that he is travelling somewhere.
SoundI’m going to include the sound of music mostly. There will
be a few other sounds, that would be in the area around
filming for example the sound of trains would be
included. However no dialogue or convocation would be in
the opening sequence.
Technical constructionI’m going to use my Nikon Film camera, tripod and
iMovie or final cut pro as my editing programme. The
editing is going to be a realistic editing.
Representation-

I want the audience to feel sorry for the
character in the opening sequence. To
already feel emotion towards him.
Target audienceBe an older audience, older teens to young adults.
This is because it could be confusing for younger
viewers as the drama may scare them.
FilmingThe filming is going to take place over half term.
