"Sparks"
Coldplay
Acoustic guitars are used to in the song in order
to signify to the audience that it is an calming
song. The video would include a variety of shots
of the guitarist playing the song whilst singing.
Silhouette's would be a key idea throughout this
in order to represent the calming and mellow
nature of the song. The lighting will be warm, in
order to further emphasise the tone of the song,
and compliments the soft vocals that is included
in the song. Wide shots that are closely focused
on the singer/guitarist in order to represent the
isolation the song brings. Some story elements
will be added in, but it's a reflective look on the
singer's life and who he has interacted with over
the years. Props will be left scarce in lonely
moments and moments of singing, in order to
focus on the lead. House sets will be used for the
reflective elements of the video, cluttered with
mess in order to show how his life has not been
the same. Costumes will be kept mainly minimal
"R U Mine"
Arctic Monkeys Mise-en-scene will be of a party scenario. Drinks
will be placed around a club and will be
populated of people dancing and having a good
time. The camera will follow a lead person who
stumbles into the bar and decides to forget his
troubles dealing with a girl. A shot of a phone
with his girlfriend's name will appear and he will
ignore it and continue to have a good time. The
whole video will be based on events that had
happened in the club. Some scenes of being sick
in the toilet, and some just having a genuine
good time. He gets into a fight with one of the
people in the bar. The last shot will be of him
being kicked out and he just laughs it off on the
ground. Lighting will show harsh colours, blue
and harsh red lights in a club. Disco lighting to be
used. Bar will have drinks being served. Montage
of hi, taking multiple shots. Costume would be
smart casual, typical club attire.
"Shut your eyes"
Snow Patrol
BRAINSTORM
For this song, I want to create a psychedelic feeling to the song. The
song is all about imagination so I would like to picture a single man
going through his thoughts. With the use of green screen I will have
some cutaway shots of him being adrift in his own mind, with the
background relating to the song. "Somewhere cold and caped in
snow" suddenly changes to fire in the song soon afterwards and I
would like to give the viewer an insight on what is going on in his
mind. I want him to be void of the world, so he will be walking past
classes in the school and places in the house where people are
completely unaware of him. A shot of him in the same place but in
different positions throughout the room, multiple bodies. He will be
wearing school attire but will be wearing black for the green screen.
Classic environments such as schools and home environments. The
last shot will end with him in a room that slowly darkens and
completely blackens out. This will be a wide shot in the Lecture
Theatre.
