• Suppress gram positive bacteria
• Sodium sulfite + Basic fuchin
Red colour ( aldehyde reaction)
In addition fermentation of lactose

• Inhibit gram positive organism
• Under acidic condition – dark purple complex with green
metallic sheen
• Pink colour formation
