Metric is a Canadian independent rock band formed in 1998 consisting of four members: Emily Haines, Jimmy Shaw, Joshua Winstead, and Joules Scott Key. They released their debut album "Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?" in 2003 which went platinum in 2005. Their second album "Live It Out" sold twice as many copies as their first and led to them opening for the Rolling Stones. Metric has since toured extensively worldwide and released four successful albums while utilizing social media to engage with fans and secretly release new music.
