This document provides specifications for a compound reverted gear train with two stages of gear reduction. It determines gear sizes and tooth counts that satisfy the required input and output speeds and torque ratios. An analysis of forces and stresses is performed on the intermediate shaft to specify its diameter and design. Bearing types and sizes are selected. Safety factors are calculated to evaluate the design. Specifications for gears, shafts, bearings and other components are provided to meet customer requirements within size, power and life constraints.
