Pediatric dentistry encompasses a variety of disciplines,
techniques, and procedures to modify and adapt to the
special needs of infants, children, and adolescents.
Pediatric Dentistry is an “Age Defined” specialty. In this
department, students perform all types of preventive and
comprehensive dental procedures in children up to the
age of 14 years. Further, a child-friendly environment is
provided considering the variable behavior needs of the
growing children and thus instilling in them a positive
attitude towards dentistry.

OBJECTIVE
Developing competency in the prevention and management of oro-facial
health problems of children and adolescents.
Instilling the ability to provide comprehensive oral health care for patients
with emotional, intellectual, or psychological disabilities.
Providing an understanding of the biological basis for pediatric dentistry and
the application of scientific knowledge to clinical practice.
Developing practical administrative skills to provide efficient provision of
dental health care.
Developing an understanding of general concepts and principles of
pharmacology, anesthetic drugs, preoperative patient assessment,
monitoring, record keeping, discharge instructions, and best practices for
managing complications.
Developing competency with a number of restorative materials as well as
isolation techniques and digital film technology.
