MDO Limited was established in 2001 to meet the ever growing need for a reliable draughting
service. Based in our offices in Newhaven, East Sussex, we work closely with an ever growing
client base to provide them with a quality draughting service, specialising in Reinforced Concrete
Detailing and Computer Aided Design Draughting, all our CAD technicians use the latest AutoCad
and CADS RC detailing software.

3. The company specialises in RC detail drawings, although we have worked in all forms of CAD
draughting, with our comprehensive knowledge on the subject we are confident we can provide a
competitive, accurate and professional service on time and to budget.
Project Experience
We have experience in a vast array of projects ranging from small residential to large high rise
structures, we have also worked in water treatment, tunnels, airports, roads and bridges.
We have been lucky enough to have worked on some unusual projects, and recently carried out
the detailing for the new housing structure for the ‘Cutty Sark’ in London.
Other previous projects we have been involved in are: Phafos airport, Heathrow Terminal 5,
Crossharbour redevelopment in London and Paradise Street in Liverpool to mention but a few.

4. Software and Output Formats
We use AutoCAD release 2011 and the latest CADS-RC software. CADS-RC is probably by far the
market leader in detailing software, when used properly in conjunction with AutoCAD, it reduces
the likelihood of errors on RC drawings, as bars drawn are to scale and both bars and ranges are
linked directly back to the bending schedule, this in turn will mean less wasted time from site
queries.
Bending schedules are exported to an Excel format, and issued as such to the Client, the Clients
company logo can be added to the header and bar weights can be placed on the schedule if
required, see attached example.
Drawings are issued to the client in .dwg format, although other formats such as pdf can be
produced upon request.
All CAD files are issued to the Client by email.

6. Quotations and Lead in
We are happy to provide quotations on any project small or large; we can provide a price based
on any of the following:
 Per Drawing
 Per Hour
 Lump Sum
For many of our clients it is preferable to have a ‘lump sum price’, generally speaking the larger
the project the more repetition there is and therefore the cheaper the drawing rate comes out.
When working out a ‘lump sum’ price we estimate what we believe to be the ‘worst case’ scenario
and aim to come in under that if possible, thus avoiding having to go back and asking for
additional costs.
We pride ourselves on both quality and hitting deadlines; as such we will not take a job if we do
not believe we can meet your requirements.
If you are working on a project that requires detailing the more advance warning we have the
better, we can produce a quotation and book in the necessary resources to do the work.
Why use us?
These are difficult times, where budgets are tight, no one wants to be paying staff to sit around
in quieter times and experienced contract staff can be hard to find, not to mention expensive.

All of our detailersare experiencedinAutoCADandCADS-RC,andare detailersfirstandforemost,

Unlike some of ourcompetitorswe donot use overseasdetailingoutfits tooutsource ourworkfora
quickprofit;all of our detailers have agoodknowledgeof structures usingbothBritishandEuro
codesof practice andhave workedinthe industryfora numberof years.
