Innovation audit 2.0 for agile groups and teams pagesAssentire Ltd
This document provides an overview of the Innovation Audit 2.0 tool developed by Assentire Ltd to assess a group's dynamics and readiness for innovation and change. The audit is a diagnostic tool consisting of questionnaires that evaluate (1) a group's learning vs control dynamics, (2) the supporting environment, and (3) alignment between the group and environment. It is intended to identify a group's strengths and areas for improvement to better support innovation and flexibility within an organization.
BFRC Window Energy Ratings provide a rating system to evaluate the thermal performance of replacement window systems. The ratings are based on calculations of U-value, solar gain, and air leakage. Improving ratings involves technologies like multi-chamber profiles, warm edge spacers, and low-e coatings. The ratings process involves three stages and costs under £2000. Fabricators benefit from marketing higher rated windows, while consumers save on energy bills and reduce carbon emissions with more efficient windows rated C or above.
The document discusses the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS•S) and their six themes: creativity and innovation, communication and collaboration, research and information fluency, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, digital citizenship, and technology operations and concepts. It provides examples of how teachers can incorporate each theme into classroom lessons using technology, such as having students create original work to demonstrate creativity, use tools like cameras and blogs to collaborate, engage in research using digital resources to develop research skills, and learn appropriate technology usage to become good digital citizens.
Grow through change research overview Mar 2013 ccAssentire Ltd
This document summarizes research from interviews with 16 change leaders on what drives resistance to change. It finds that 70% of change initiatives fail mainly due to resistance to change. Leaders cited issues like communication problems, a lack of understanding the personal impacts of change, and transformational leadership challenges as top reasons for resistance. The document suggests that resistance may be reduced by addressing these issues through improved relationship building, communication, and developing leaders' abilities to facilitate change.
Major change within organisations has become the norm in the 21st centuryAssentire Ltd
Major change within organisations has become the norm in the 21st century.
Much research both practitioner and academic has taken place to better
understand the challenges that this represents. This is not a new phenomenon,
there is material dating back centuries looking at or reflecting upon changing
the order of the day.
Coming forward in time, to just 50 years ago, the
observations written about are not so different from what is written today in
2013. The adoption of certain terms has occurred to help communicate and
offer consultancy services and promote better understanding. Examples are
“Change Management” and “Resistance to Change” however, the very nature of
adopting non-standardised terms has resulted in a range of different
interpretations, these terms we think we understand, but they clearly have
different meanings for different people as was identified in this research
project. What is common, if you ask someone their opinion regarding
“Resistance to Change”, is they have one, just may not be what you are
expecting.

E-mail and blogs can both be useful communication tools in the classroom but also have some disadvantages. E-mail allows for fast, cheap, and versatile communication worldwide but can become time-consuming and insecure if not used properly. Blogs allow sharing of knowledge and feedback but require maintenance and have no privacy as a public forum. Both tools may lack personal contact and require training for students on digital citizenship and responsible use.
Resistance to Change, a Leaders' perspective. Webinar amp oct 2013 21stAssentire Ltd
Using research to improve the delivery and effectiveness of change programmes. This was the title of a Webinar sponsored by the Association for Project Management (apm) on the 21st October 2013
The Silent Workers document summarizes the activities of the National Service Scheme (NSS) team at IIT Roorkee over the past year. Key activities included blood donation camps that collected over 400 units of blood, fundraising efforts that raised close to 1 lakh rupees for a local deaf school, teaching construction workers' children, adopting local villages for rural development programs, and research projects on a sewage treatment plant, reducing mobile phone radiation, and designing a clean student hostel room. The NSS team involved over 600 first-year students in its activities through various cells and committees over the past year.
Mary Kay Ash started Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1963 after facing discrimination and barriers to success in the male-dominated business world. Her company empowered women by allowing them to work flexible hours selling beauty products. Under her leadership, Mary Kay Cosmetics grew into a multi-billion dollar global company. She authored several books sharing her principles of empowering women and prioritizing faith, family, and career. Mary Kay is recognized as one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in history.
The document discusses the emergence of a new business model for the 21st century driven by three forces: new needs, new technology, and a new enterprise logic. It argues that companies are moving from a "managerial capitalism" model of the 20th century towards a "distributed capitalism" model based on co-creation between institutions, individuals, and communities leveraging common IT infrastructure. This new model will impact project management, requiring collaborative leadership, connecting networks, and tapping into crowds.
Your leadership style could be getting in your own wayAssentire Ltd
This document discusses leadership styles and how they can sometimes get in the way. It explores concepts like the "ladder of inference" and how people's espoused theories don't always match their actual behaviors. Leaders often use a "sandwich approach" to feedback where they start and end with positives, but inserting criticism in the middle can backfire by making the recipient distrustful. Understanding these concepts can help leaders gain insight into their own and others' behaviors in order to improve communication and outcomes.
Do People Resist Change March 2015 talk at the Association for Project Manage...Assentire Ltd
This document summarizes research into resistance to change from a leadership perspective. It discusses evidence that shows 70% of change initiatives fail and resistance is often cited as the top reason. The research was based on interviews with 16 change leaders from over 55 organizations. It identified 18 symptoms of resistance to change occurring in areas of relationships/culture, personal dynamics, group dynamics, communication, and change dynamics. The implications for leadership are that changes require addressing human motivation, management styles, interpersonal skills, and organizational culture and climate to be successful. The document advocates for an integrated leadership approach considering individual, group and organizational dynamics.
The document discusses key concepts related to global carbon markets and climate change mitigation efforts. It describes the Kyoto Protocol and mechanisms like emissions trading, joint implementation, and the Clean Development Mechanism. China is the largest supplier of emissions reductions credits but Africa accounts for a small share of projects. There is debate around whether requirements should apply equally to developed and developing countries given differences in emissions histories and development levels. Carbon markets aim to reduce emissions cost-effectively but some argue they have not adequately supported projects in countries most vulnerable to climate change.
