This document summarizes a fundraising event held by Sunrise Montessori School. It discusses the successful auction that raised $10,500 for scholarships. The event featured food, live music, and both silent and live auctions. Several individuals and committees are thanked for their work organizing and contributing to the successful event. Upcoming school events like graduation and the start of the new school year are also announced.

Your kids are on Facebook. That bully who beat you up in first grade is now a LinkedIn connection. Great. But...why are you and your business on Facebook? In this presentation we'll dive into the "why" and discuss how to develop an actual social media marketing strategy for your green industry business. We'll discuss how to determine objectives and goals, how to develop a theme, and how to measure your results.

1. You brought the love, and
we ALL stayed for dessert!
It was a magical night
under the stars - the food was
incredible, Eric and Oriana
from Soul Majestic played a
phenomenal set, and the
dessert.... well, the dessert
was just perfect!
There was a sense of
excitement and joy in the air
as Sunrise families met new
friends and spent time with
old ones. The evening was
perfect - just cool enough,
after a week of double and
triple digit temperatures, and
the setting was so very
elegant. Every detail had
been thought through by the
Auction Committee, and it
was flawlessly executed.
Robert Riechel led the
evening as the MC. I think he
may be the best Live Auction
MC in the history of Live
Auctions, but I’m probably
biased. In an unprecedented
move during the hot bidding
war for the custom birdbath
the children made, Robert
offered to make a second bird
bath for the other bidder,
which made both bidders
happy, and made the Auction
Committee incredibly happy!
I am so very proud to
announce, that the total
amount raised for the Doris
Holloway Memorial
Scholarship Fund was an
astonishing $10,500!
Thank you to everyone
who volunteered, who
sponsored the event, who
donated items to the
auctions, and who came and
bid!
Bring the
Love....
Stay for
dessert!

4. L s , s !
We couldn’t have done it without
you, and everyone needs to know
how amazing you are!
MICHELLE MONTEZ FISHER
She’s not only the Hostess with
the Most-est (yes, I know that’s
overused, shhh!), but she’s 1/3 of
the Most Amazing Auction
Committee Ever. Michelle was in
charge of securing donations and
managing the auction list. All of
our stellar items either came from
her, or came from someone she
knew could get amazing items.
And she never stressed out and
she always had great hair.
Michelle kept her cool even when
when everyone was losing theirs,
she is graciousness personified
and she can build Legos faster
than anyone I’ve ever seen. True
fact.
DOROTHY POLEY
A year ago Dorothy wandered
into the office and said, “So this
auction thing, do you need help?
We can do lighting and sound.”
And then she proceeded to
manage the entire event, keep it
on time, on track and fully
functional for eight full months -
which is how she became the
2nd member of the Most
Amazing Auction Committee
Ever. Dorothy is one of the
funniest people I know, she also
runs a meeting like a boss. In the
days leading up to the auction
and during the event, she knew
what needed to happen, every
minute of every day and the team
was never, ever behind. And
there were no emergencies. It
was a thing of beauty.
GWYNETH RAMIREZ
Gwyneth likes things to match.
Obsessively. She is all about
“branding” and likes everything
to be visually stimulating. She
said a lot of other things, but I
stopped listening 45 minutes
ago, because she also talks. A
lot. I don’t think she gets out
much. Gwyneth was in charge of
everything that was written or
printed. Apparently red is her
favorite color. She is the final
member of the Most Amazing
Auction Committee Ever, and is
trying to get the other two to start
a band with her.
ELAINE BEST
Elaine said she didn’t have time
to officially be on the committee,
but then she went out and
snagged some pretty amazing
auction items. We are eternally
grateful to Elaine for her
unflagging energy, and
willingness to send, “just one
more thing” our way. THANK
YOU ELAINE!
DON’T WONDER
PRODUCTIONS
Sound and lighting can make or
break an event. Bad sound, poor
lighting - and even the nicest
party can tank. Drew Poley flew
in from Toronto, Canada 24 hours
before the event, had a business
meeting in Los Angeles that
afternoon, drove through nasty
LA rush hour traffic to get to our
location at 8:00pm and then set
the lights, by himself for the next
6 hours, after already putting in
an 18 hour day and three time
zones. And he was in a pretty
good mood. If that’s not the
definition of Rock Star, then
clearly I’m not Merriam Webster.
Did you notice the groovy tunes
at the auction, and the really
stunning lighting? That’s all
Drew. He’s not only our Rock
Star, he’s a SuperStar Dad to
Lilyanna, who goes to Sunrise,
and AJ, who goes to Cold Spring
- and he’s married to the amazing
Dorothy.
THANK YOU DREW!
KELLY & DANEN CARLSON
Beer and bathrooms. Two of my
favorite things. And the Carlson’s
donated both. Without their
forward thinking, we would have
been drinking domestic, and
standing in line for the restroom.
It’s good to think ahead. THANK
YOU KELLY & DANEN!
BENJAMIN SILVER
Speaking of answering the call,
when Benjamin was approached
about the possibility of donating
some wine to the auction, he
immediately leaped at the
opportunity. I personally LOVE
Silver wine, so I was thrilled to be
drinking my favorite wine.
THANK YOU BENJAMIN!
KELLY RODRIGUEZ
Kelly was the first person to hit
the pavements and provide us
with our very first corporate
sponsor, and she helped us set
up the party. THANK YOU
KELLY!
In addition, we want to thank the
many volunteers who helped
along the way: Marissa
Brenninkmeyer, Olivia Marr, Jen
Lilienstein, Fernanda Friden,
Asako Sokabe, Alicia Ledesma,
Francis Coleman, Tony Rincon,
Alexander Lepere, Alec Pena
Flores, Jack Pena Flores, &

First day of school!
It’s Hard to Say Goodbye
Adventures are easy, it’s saying goodbye
that’s hard. Someone said that, or at least
they should have.
My family is moving to Orange County to
have Amazing Adventures near multiple
Target stores.
Laird and Claire will be going to Carden
Conservatory in Huntington Beach, where
they will learn to love uniforms and small
classes.
Alexander will go to Woodbridge High
School where he will fall in love with a
blonde cheerleader (according to him,
blonde cheerleaders grow on trees in
Orange County.)
My Secret Agent Man will continue to
work for his current company, but he will
be closer to several of his major clients and
to more convenient airports.
I will be closer to Target. Which, as many
of you know, is very important. In fact,
there are two within a three mile radius of
my new house.
I will also be looking for.... something. I
don’t want to say a “new Sunrise”,
because nothing will ever replace Sunrise
in my heart. My time here has been
astounding and fulfilling. I had no idea
when I started two years ago that this
would become such a defining moment in
my history. I have been given such
freedom to explore my talents and give
more than 100% of myself, and that sort of
thing just doesn’t happen that often.
So, I will be looking for the next
adventure in my journey.
I will miss each and every one of you,
because in one way or another, you made
this possible.
I will miss the children most of all.
Because they are truly worth working for.
Happy adventures!
Gwyneth
