•The original examples are the natural numbers

• Numbers can be represented in a language with number words.
• Individual numbers can be represented by symbols, called numerals
For example, "5" is a numeral that represents the number Five
• In Hindu –Arabic numeral system the ten basic numerals
represented by numeric symbols such as 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 called as
digits.
• These digits are combined to represent any number.
