Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
The United Nations Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was established by the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2007. The Mechanism which is made-up of five experts, including indigenous persons, serves as an advisory body to the Human Rights Council. It provides expertise on issues related to indigenous peoples’ rights, mainly through studies, as requested. It may also make proposals for the Council’s consideration.
The United Nations Human Rights office (OHCHR) services the Expert Mechanism and also provides technical and financial support. Annual sessions Each year, the Mechanism has a five-day session to: meet with various interested parties in order to respond to the Human Rights Council’s requests for expert advice and to discuss how the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples can improve indigenous peoples’ lives Thematic studies The Mechanism provides its expertise mainly in the form of studies and advice on specific issues pertaining to indigenous peoples’ rights.
It has worked so far on two studies on the right of indigenous peoples to education and on the right to participate in decision-making. The Mechanism works closely with the Special Rapporteur on the situation of the human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people, the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, as well as other human rights mechanisms and institutions. Adopted by the General Assembly in September 2007, the Declaration is a key reference for indigenous peoples’ rights and for the Mechanism. Article 42 of the Declaration requests all relevant UN mandates to promote respect for and full application of the Declaration’s provisions.
The Expert Mechanism, through its advice to the Human Rights Council, helps to provide a better understanding of the Declaration and other human rights standards concerning indigenous peoples

Due to globalization processes, the importance of the knowledge of foreign languages in almost every field
of professional and private life is constantly growing. This has had an impact on the policy of many international
institutions, including those in the European Union. Supporting language pluralism has been an explicit
aim of the European strategy for multilingualism since 2008. The following paper presents the results of
an interdisciplinary research study initiated by representatives of two different fields of science: linguistics
and political science. Among the generation of young people aged between 18-24, who belong to the so-called
Generation Z (White 2017: 224) and were brought up as EU citizens, the study points to a conflict between
the perception of foreign language skills and opportunities to develop them using EU funds. The research
aims to analyze the awareness of the EU language policy in Poland, combining questions related to people’s
foreign language portfolio and knowledge about existing possibilities of learning foreign languages, as well
as the ability to obtain external financing. The survey was conducted among 100 students of linguistic and
non-linguistic studies and enabled the formulation of initial conclusions that are the basis for further research.

The CIA's Counterintelligence Center Analysis Group (CIC/AG) identifies, monitors, and analyzes the efforts of FIEs against US persons, activities, and interests. CIC/AG analysts focus on two specific types of counterintelligence threats to US national security:
1. Transnational threats, such as the counterintelligence aspect of terrorism or the threats posed by emerging or changing technologies to the US Government, intelligence operations, and US Government information systems; and
2. Threats posed by FIEs and their activities.

A FIE is any known or suspected foreign organization, person, or group (public, private, or governmental) that conducts intelligence activities to acquire U.S. information, block or impair U.S. intelligence collection, influence U.S. policy, or disrupt U.S. systems and programs. This term includes a foreign intelligence and security service [FISS] and international terrorist organizations. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
