Mary is considered the Mother of the Church because she possesses divine motherhood as the Mother of God, remained perpetually virgin before, during, and after Christ's birth, was conceived without original sin through the Immaculate Conception, and was assumed into heaven upon her death as proclaimed by Popes Pius IX and Pius XII.
