Annual cost savings after project - $173,806.32
Assigned an OR staff member to organize the preference cards for the surgeon’s next days’cases and
return to the Sterile Processing Department prior to 1pm daily. This prevented delays from SPD and
from the OR when setting up for the case. This cost savings was from the average salaries of the staff in
each room and for the met goal of shaving five minutes off of each surgical case.Average total surgical
cases per month = 1100 for a total of 5500 minutes saved per month (91 hours and 40 minutes). The
staff in a room consists of 1 CRNA (average pay $90/hour), 1 RN (28/hour), and 2 CSTs (20/hour
each). Monthly total savings = $14,483.86

would be rolled out. This information is needed to meet stage 2 of MU. Total incentives are expected at $3.8

AHP ranging between 68.5% to 96.3%
Assisted in increasing Core Pneumonia from 85% to 100% (currently a retired measure)
Direct hand in increasing Blood Consent Compliance from 82% to 96.5% in a two year period. Identified
that PAs/NPs were able to sign a blood consent anywhere in the state of SC except in our hospital due to our
