INTRODUCTION
 Competation is the rivalary between companies selling similar products and
services with the goal of achieving revenue, profit and market share growth.
 Market competition motivates companies to increase sales volume by utilization
the four components of marketing mix, also referred to as four p’s.
 These p’s stands for product, place, promotion and price.
 Knowing and understanding your competition is a critical step in designing a
successful market strategy.
 If you are not aware of who the competition is and knowledgeable about their
strength and weakness, its likely that another firm could enter the picture and
provide competitive advantage, such as product offerings at lower price or value
added benefits.
 Here the major competitors of COMPLAN, REVLON and HIT is analysed.
complan
 Complan is powdered milk based drink that was launched into market by Glaxo.
The brand is currently owned by DANONE and is sold in varients like complan
growth plus, complan memory, and complan nutrigro.
 The varients are available in flavours like chocolate and basic version of complan
has many unique flavours like pista badam, strawberry, kulfi etc.
 Some of the major competators of complan are HORLICKS, BOOST,
BOURNVITA, PEDIASURE and MALTOVA
 The brand at first place is bournvita with largest market share of 40% and second
place is complan with 22%.
 The third and fourth position is Horlicks and boost with16% and 12% market

highly competitive. The company competes primarily by developing quality

demands in a timely manner, including the timing of new product introductions
and line extensions.

cleaning agents and personal care products.
The company began in 1926 as a merger between margarine producer and a soap maker
and today owns over 400 brands. Some of unilever most prominent brands are knorr,
dove, axe and Lipton.
