24 employees from Keppel Offshore & Marine’s (Keppel O&M) overseas business units were selected for a 14-week Diploma (Conversion) in Marine & Offshore Technology course, a partnership
programme between Keppel O&M and Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Keppel Offshore & Marine
(Keppel O&M) has partnered
Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) to
conduct a 14-week Diploma
(Conversion) in Marine &
Offshore Technology course
for high-performing staff
from Keppel O&M’s overseas
business units.
24 employees were selected
Growing talent globally
from Keppel O&M’s yards
in Brazil, China, Qatar, USA
and the Philippines for
the inaugural programme
conducted from 11 March
to 15 June 2013.
The programme kicked off
with an orientation and tour
of Keppel O&M’s yards on
8 March 2013, together with
course presentations and
sharing sessions organised to
assimilate the participants. It
will include part-time studies
at NP as well as on-job-
training attachments with
mentors in Singapore.
Dr Lee Chay Hoon, GM of
Organisation Development
in Keppel O&M said in
her opening address, “We
recognise the talent and
efforts of all our employees,
and this includes our
overseas staff. The course
aims to increase the technical
knowledge of our overseas
staff, and familiarise them
with the working culture and
best practices in Singapore.

‘Knowledge is King’, and
it is ever more important
in today’s information-
inundated workplace to
ensure that key knowledge
is preserved, retained and
shared within the company.
To facilitate this, Keppel
Quest for knowledge
Land has embarked on a
Knowledge Management
(KM) journey.
The group’s KM steering
committee, chaired by
Mr Ang Wee Gee, CEO of
Keppel Land, has been set up
to oversee the development
of the group’s KM vision and
strategy. It will also play an
integral role in the company-
wide implementation of
this initiative and track
its effectiveness.
To be implemented in
phases, the KM initiative
aims to cultivate a culture
of knowledge sharing and
enhance collaboration
b e t w e e n s t a f f a n d
a c r o s s d e p a r t m e n t s .
This will in turn improve
individual productivity and
organisational effectiveness.
