 Charlotte Johnson is a community-focused St. Paul,
Minnesota, executive who guides the Otto Bremer Trust
(OBT) as trustee and co-CEO. In facilitating $47 million in
program-based grants in 2016 alone, Charlotte Johnson and
her colleagues sought out well-established organizations
with a demonstrated track record of improving people’s
lives.
As reported in the Mankato Free Press, OBT oversaw the
distribution of a record-breaking $47.3 million in charitable
giving in 2016, with recipient organizations spread across
the Upper Midwest in communities where Otto Bremer
Bank has a presence. In total, nonprofits in the Mankato
area received more than $400,000.

 The executive director of Lake Crystal Area Recreation
Center expressed satisfaction with the $30,000 his
group received as the nonprofit, like many similar
organizations, constantly faces tight budget
constraints. As the money is undesignated, it does not
carry with it requirements that the Center provide
additional money of its own to launch new
programming. Also in the Mankato community, the
Open Door Health Center received a $150,000 grant
that will be utilized to establish new dental clinics
across southwest Minnesota.
