2. OVERVIEW
Mangalore University is a premier public university located in Mangalore, Karnataka. It was
established in 1980 as an independent postgraduate centre of the University of Mysore.
It has grown impressively and has 206 Affiliated Colleges, 5 Autonomous Colleges and 2
Constituent Colleges under its hood.
Mangalore University offers higher education in the field of Arts, Science & Technology,
Commerce and Education.

university campuses are:
The campus at Mangalagangothri is located in the historic coastal town of
Mangalore and is spread across 353 acres.
The campus provides all the essential and infrastructural facilities for candidates with
excellence in higher education.
Jnana Kaveri Postgraduate Centre (JKPGC) is located at Somwarpet Taluk,
Madikeri. It has two academic departments offering 11 Postgraduate and 2 Doctoral
programs.
The campus of Mangalore University is spread across 70.47 acres of land in the
scenic and beautiful hilly district of Kodagu.

5. • Candidates wishing to join any program offered by the Mangalore
University can apply both online or offline.
• The application fees for reserved candidates is Rs. 250 and other
candidates are - Rs. 500
• Candidates applying for more than one program shall pay Rs. 100
(Rs. 50 for reserved categories) extra for each program.
• Mangalore University admission for all the courses is based on
marks obtained by the candidates in their qualifying examinations.
• Candidates who have obtained valid marks or grades in other
National/ State level exams can also apply.
• Ph.D candidates have to clear the entrance exam followed by a
Viva, which will be conducted by the respective departments.
•Incomplete applications will be rejected by the management.
