Through Marco Polo and trade routes, Europeans knew of China, India, and Japan but had little information about them. The inner parts of Asia, Africa, and Americas were unexplored. During the 15th century, European countries began exploring the seas more to find new trade routes around Africa or through the Atlantic due to the Turks conquering Constantinople and closing routes between Europe and East. New maps, instruments like the compass, and improved ships enabled longer sea voyages.

Culture in Europe during the Middle Ages was dominated by Christianity and the Catholic Church. Knights followed a code of chivalry that restricted fighting. The cemetery is located near Huta Częstochowa, Poland and covers about 8.5 hectares. It contains around 4-5 thousand tombstones with Polish and Hebrew inscriptions. The cemetery was founded in the late 18th century by the Jewish community and was cared for by Jews until 1950. In 1943, Jews were executed and buried in a mass grave at the cemetery. Access was restricted when the area became part of Huta Częstochowa. Vandals damaged graves in 2007, but students later helped clean up the damage. Despite issues, the cemetery has a unique atmosphere from its greenery, especially ivy.

Francis bacon
Sir Francis Bacon was an English philosopher, statesman, scientist, and lawyer born in 1561 who made important contributions to the scientific revolution. He served as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England but was later convicted of bribery. Bacon rejected standard academic philosophy and authored works such as The Advancement of Learning and Novum Organum that argued for empirical inquiry and the scientific method. He is considered a founding father of the scientific revolution and the modern scientific method.

The modern period in Indian history began in the 18th century as the Mughal Empire witnessed decline and regional kingdoms grew more powerful. European trading companies like the Dutch, French, and British East India Company (BEIC) took advantage of the political instability to capture Indian territories. In 1757, Robert Clive led British forces to victory over the Nawab of Bengal and French forces in the Battle of Plassey, establishing British control over Bengal. After another British victory in the Battle of Buxar in 1764, the BEIC established rule over most of India and exploited its resources through taxation and trade policies until the First War of Independence in 1857, after which India came under direct British Crown rule.

1) In the 12th century, an Irish king named Dermot Mac Murrough attacked another Irish king and took his wife. He was then driven out of Ireland by his enemies and sought help from the King of England, Henry II.
2) In 1169, Henry II sent men to Ireland to help Dermot. However, Henry's men stayed and began taking land for themselves, building cities and castles. Henry then declared himself King of England and Ireland.
3) For the next 400 years, English kings tried to rule Ireland from Dublin but faced resistance from Irish kings who did not want to be ruled by England. There was ongoing conflict between the English and Irish in Ireland.
