Malaysia is a Southeast Asian
country whose history has been
strongly influenced by its strategic
geographical position made ​​it a focal
point for trade and international
influences . To the west the Hindu
India, the Islamic Middle East and
Christian Europe , while China and
Japan to the northeast were important
influences came from the hand of
trade routes across the region. The
Malaysian history is also intertwined

The country only began to exist as a unified state in 1963 having been dominated by its UK territory
in the eighteenth century through the establishment of a number of colonies. Its eastern half was
composed of separate kingdoms known as British Malaya until its dissolution in 1946 , and was
reorganized as the Malayan Union . Due to widespread opposition , it was reorganized again as the
Federation of Malaya in 1948 , achieving independence on August 31, 1957 . Singapore, Sarawak ,
North Borneo and the Federation joined to form Malaysia on 16 September 1963.Pero from the
principle tensions that led to an armed conflict with Indonesia and the expulsion of Singapore on 9
August 1965 is presented .
The Malays make up the majority of the national population . There are also substantial Chinese
and Indian communities. The Malay language and Islam are respectively the language and the
official religion of the Federation. It also speaks English, Chinese and Tamil
Malaysia is a founding member of ASEAN and a member of other international bodies such as the
Nations Unidas.En former British colony is part of the Commonwealth of Nation
