Presented at SearchLove NYC on November 1, 2011. The presentation is a look into online reputation management and what companies and individuals need to be doing to safeguard and improve their online reputations. As search engines like Google and user-generated content and review sites expose our reputations more, it's increasingly difficult to put our best face forward. This presentation shows you how to spot problems early, manage them and how NOT to manage them.

Self-Selection: A SAFe Approach to Forming Agile Release TrainsEm Campbell-Pretty
Presented on 2nd October 2019 at the Global SAFe Summit 2019.
When it comes to shaping agile teams, many organisations use a leader decides model. The design of the teams is often a very delicate balancing act. Skills, experience, subject matter expertise and personalities all need to be factored in and the end result is often less than ideal. So, what if we took a different approach? What if we let the people who are going to be in the teams decide for themselves which mix of skills, experience, subject matter expertise and personalities are going to work best? In this session you will learn how Sandy Mamoli & David Mole's approach to self-selection (aka Squadification) has been used with SAFe to empower people to choose who they work with. This warts and all tale from the trenches will arm you to attempt your own self-selection workshop when launching or reshaping Agile Release Trains.
Learning Objectives:
Explain the value of using self-selection to create teams
Identify where the standard self-selection guidance needs to be modified for SAFe
Prepare for & facilitate a self-selection event

Drupal 8 has a new powerful theming engine: TWIG. Twig is a powerful template engine that comes from the Symfony framework for theming. Either if you come from tpl.php files or are new to Drupal 8, there are some things you need to be aware of.
Theming in Drupal 8 is way more than creating a template file and start building layouts. While Twig shows up as a solid foundation to build your themes on top of, there are many Drupal-specific features that are part of the actual "Drupal theming process" and it is not directly related to the template files.
There may be well-worn tracks, but there’s certainly no single career path through product. Plus, the practice of product management varies wildly from one organisation to the other, and no one can agree on titles.
So if you’ve moved around a bit, you’re out there navigating all of this, wondering what consistency you can cling to. If you changed jobs, what would it be like? Lindsey Jayne has worked at 35 000 feet, in government, in a charity, in a tiny startup, in a global company preparing to IPO and is now living through a rocketship ride of growth at Monzo.
She will share some candid stories from her unconventional journey, and what she’s learning to rely on along the way, regardless of the product, organisation or role.

John Peebles - The Greatest Lies the Devil Ever Told to StartupsTuring Fest
Drawing from experience with multiple tech startups across multiple industries, this talk will focus on common mistakes I’ve observed. Mistakes that I’ve made, successes I’ve seen, and opportunities to benefit from advice I’ve been given will be explored. Founders often struggle with how to benchmark themselves, how to grapple with various stakeholders, and how to implement a strategy designed to maximise value, and I’ll talk about actionable strategy and tactics to help make your journey just a little less painful.

Like most companies, you know you need Outreach. You’re confident in your SEO team, but you realize that your SEO is only as good as your ability to earn links. Only problem is that your SEOs don’t have time for it, and quite frankly, they’re not the right fit for the job. You’ve considered outsourcing link building, but it kills you to pay those prices. So, how do you hire Outreach Specialists? Where are they? How do you train, manage, and measure their success? Bottom line is that you’ve never intentionally built a link before, so how are you supposed to teach someone to do it right? This presentation will answer those questions and walk you through how to grow organic traffic and revenue through in-house Outreach, Digital PR, and Content Marketing.
